After moving to Toronto from Jamaica, Ian Matthews had a long and successful career in finance. Then he left it all behind to live out a childhood dream—shepherding a growing herd of four-legged friends.

Melina Sabeti-Mehr and Zach Van Horne met on a blind date in 2015. They had both recently gotten out of long-term relationships and decided to just be friends, but they soon fell for each other. After nine years of dating, the couple got engaged at the Three Speed in Bloordale. A year later, in 2024, they got married at the Toronto Botanical Gardens, surrounded by 110 guests. Here’s how it all came together.
