"I feel I am responsible for the rest of the world, whatever is happening in the world I am responsible. Whether what is happening in Belfast or the riots in England, or the Middle East threat of war, or the starvation in India, and so on and so on. As a human being who is part of the rest of humanity I feel I am responsible, deeply. It is not just a verbal conclusion but I feel that very strongly. And I have been working with all of you and I feel I am also responsible for all of you. And I don’t want that responsibility to fade away, to wither away, to die. I want to meet you, I want to discuss with you. That’s all I mean. And also I will be concerned whether it is merely a small group that are holding the vase in which the flower is growing, but holding it in a small little group, but I want to throw the seeds all over the world. That’s my responsibility. It doesn’t matter who understands or who doesn’t understand but it is my responsibility to sow the seed wherever it will fall – on a piece of dry earth or in a fertile soil."

J. Krishnamurti
Discussion with Committees at Saanen, 1981

Dear Friends,

In a time of global disorder, it is clear that change is both significant and urgent. Krishnamurti said that “conflict is the very nature of violence” and that “violence must exist as long as there is division outwardly and inwardly.” Despite his words being spoken over 40 years ago, Krishnamurti's teachings continue to echo in the hearts and minds of people across the world. He often spoke of how it wasn’t “the teachings” that were important. Instead, he highlighted the significance of discovering these insights and finding out for oneself.

Krishnamurti's work is accessible to many individuals because of your support. Interest in the teachings continues to rise every day through our online presence, outreach activities, publications, events, programs, and dialogues at the Krishnamurti Center, and lastly, through the students, teachers, staff, and parents at Oak Grove School.

We ask for your financial assistance twice a year to help us preserve and disseminate Krishnamurti’s work and continue to make it broadly accessible through the Foundation, the Krishnamurti Center, and the Oak Grove School. It is because of the generosity of donors like you that we have the ability to continue sharing Krishnamurti’s influential body of work with the largest possible audience.

Later this Spring, our Annual May Gathering will take place on May 7th and May 8th, 2022 at Oak Grove School in Ojai. It will also be live-streamed online. This year’s theme is What Are You Looking For? and participants are invited to come to listen to speakers, participate in discussions and dialogues, attend workshops, and enjoy the beauty of the Oak Grove School campus while spending time with friends. On Loneliness and Aloneness
Weekend Retreat
April 1 - 3

In this dialogue weekend, participants will share an inquiry into loneliness and aloneness. Together in a shared space, we will look at our own loneliness and where it comes from, and all the ways we escape from it. When we truly get in touch with our sense of isolation, perhaps we might discover what Krishnamurti talks about as aloneness, the realization that we are all one.

This weekend program will consist of inquiry through dialogue, walks in nature, delicious vegetarian meals, as well as alone time.

The Immeasurable

Humanity is split into different religions and beliefs—each with their own authority to follow, their own methods, systems, and rules. It makes one wonder... what is religion and who is God?

One can see how this division is enforced in religions and organizations in which there are those "who know" and those "who don't know," always requiring authority or interpreters in order to gain so-called salvation or liberation.

What would it mean to inquire about all of this? Is it possible to inquire without authority, fear, or pleasure?
