As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize healthcare, its potential to enhance patient safety and improve radiation protection practices is becoming increasingly evident. The IAEA is holding a seven-session webinar series on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Radiation Protection of Patients’ that aims to explore how AI-driven tools and technologies can support and advance the safe and effective use of radiation in medical settings. This second session, ‘Artificial Intelligence in Radiation Protection of Patients: AI Technology', will cover the fundamentals of AI, including system architecture, data handling and core tasks related to patient safety. Through this webinar, you can: - Explore the basic architecture and model types commonly used in AI applications for radiation protection.
- Gain knowledge of the role and characteristics of data used in the development and deployment of AI tools in medical radiation contexts.
- Explore fundamental AI tasks and their relevance to improving radiation protection and safety of patients.
