IBC 2016 - What a show!

An amazing chance to meet our resellers and customers (old and new), discuss integrations and collect valuable feedback on Archiware P5.

We would like to thank our 27(!) hardware and software partners at this year's show for their continued support and for introducing our products to their customers!

Another big Thank You goes to David Fox (JPY), Mike Szumlinksi and Peter Woodman (PVT), Walter van Deun (Q-Systems), André Aulich (moosystems), Ron Pfister (halimedia) and Thomas Waldinger (Archive Assistant) for manning our booth and advising our visitors competently and comprehensively. Great team!

See you all next year,
Marc & Julia

Archive - the big picture.

At the beginning of this year, we started a new quarterly mailing called "Archiware Spotlight". This is where we take an in-depth look at a specific topic concerning not only our products and services, but also the data management and storage environment around it.

Last week saw the third edition of Spotlight, this time titled "Archive - the big picture." It is now available on our blog, and so are the previous editions.

If you would like to receive future Archiware Spotlights, please notify us via e-mail.

macOS Sierra - test before you upgrade

The latest version of Mac OS X, macOS Sierra (10.12) is here - and we can understand that everyone gets excited. But before you upgrade, consider this: new software is never perfect. Give it a few months to make sure the initial bumps are ironed out and install a test system to make sure all your essential apps are running smoothly.

But don't just take it from us - here is what video guru Larry Jordan and DAM, SAN & storage expert Mat X. have to say.

We will inform you when P5 has been thouroughly tested on macOS Sierra and we can confirm full compatibility.

Optical Storage vs. Tape for Archive

One topic that comes up frequently in discussions with our customers is our take on Optical Disc Archive (ODA) as an archive medium.

So to answer this question (at least for the time being), our Business Development Manager Dr. Marc Batschkus has written a blog article comparing tape and optical storage in the archiving environment and explaining why, from our point of view, LTO tape is better suited for a number of reasons.

Please review us on G2Crowd!

We have recently joined G2Crowd, a community that collects reviews for business software and creates ranking matrices so potential buyers can make an informed decision. Not only does this help other users find the best software for them and read about real user experience before they buy, it is also a source for vendors to get honest feedback on their products. This information is vital for us as your supplier and will help us create even better products for you and your customers.

Please review our products P5 Archive,
P5 Backup and P5 Synchronize and get us on the matrix - you can simply log in via linkedin.

Thank you!
