VIDEO: Flames tore through a 154-year-old home in Chicago's Austin neighborhood Thursday morning. The fire was in the 600-block of North Central Avenue. Chicago fire officials said two people were inside the home at the time of the fire, but fortunately they were able to safely escape. The home damaged by the fire is actually one of the oldest homes in Chicago and it's a city landmark. Video shows firefighters working to put out that fire around 1:30 this morning on what looks like the top floor of the home. One firefighter was taken to the hospital to be checked out and is expected to be OK. The home is called the Seth P. Warner House, named after Warner, who was one of Chicago's earliest settlers who was a blacksmith abolitionist and patron of the arts, according to the city. The home is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  

After years of planning Ogle - Lee and Rochelle Fire Departments were approved for a special permit to build a new multi -use training facility. A project, Rochelle City Manager, Jeff Fiegenschuh, agrees will bring more resources to other departments in the city. "I've been a supporter since day one, and I understand the need for training," he said. "I was very persistent on the need for it to be multi- departmental so we could include other utilities, plus we are working with the Tennesse Valley Authority and the American Public Power Association to have a pole climbing school for lineman here." Training firefighters in the past has been a challenge for both fire departments, leading them to adhere to alternatives like building their own space to host trainings, according to Rochelle Fire Chief, Dave Sawlsville.  

Video of a cement tanker engulfed in flames near U.S. 75 in Richardson showed the vehicle explode. The cement tanker was near the intersection of East Collins Boulevard and North Glennville Road. The Richardson Fire Department told WFAA the boom on a cement tanker hit a power line, which caused it to catch fire. As the tanker was set ablaze, chopper video showed it explode. Richardson Fire said the downed power line caused outages in the area, and Oncor was notified and responding to affected customers. Oncor told WFAA that approximately 1,200 customers were affected and there was no official estimated restoration time available. The downed power line shut down all traffic at East Collins Boulevard and North Glennville Road. Richardson FD said crews needed to wait for the power line to be shut off before starting to put out the fire.  

VIDEO: During the Denver Nuggets championship parade today, the team and their families will ride on Denver fire trucks. Nikola Jokic, number 15, will be on a rig from Station 15. Jamal Murray, number 27, will be on a rig from Station 27. Station 35 doesn't know who they will be assigned, but the crew is excited. "Generally, it's our job to just take care of them, make sure they are hydrated and just make sure they have a good time," Capt. Matt Berry said. Engineer Vaughn Henderson will drive the engine. "I was working that night when they won, in my room yelling and screaming for the Nuggets, so for me to be a part of this, to be a part of history, is really exciting for me," he said. So many people at the firehouse wanted to participate, they played a dice game to pick the lucky winners.  

PHOTOS: Jeff Lewis was a freshman at George Mason University in 1986 when a moment of helplessness led him to his life's calling. Driving home from class, he was one of the first to stop at the scene of a car accident where he found four seriously injured teenagers. Two boys had been ejected, and two girls remained belted inside the vehicle. "I just stood there frozen, with no idea what to do. Nothing. At that moment, I reexamined my entire life," says Lewis. Another car also stopped, from which a uniformed Boy Scout and his father immediately sprang into action and applied first aid. "Here I was, a college student with no particular direction in life, completely shown up by a 12-year-old," says Lewis. "Then the local fire department arrived, and within minutes they turned chaos into order and got all of the patients to definitive medical care."  

VIDEO: Commuters in Philadelphia and commercial truckers alike are bracing for what could be months of traffic disruptions due to the destruction of a section of Interstate 95, a critical artery for regional transportation. An elevated section of I-95 collapsed Sunday after a tanker truck carrying 8,500 gallons of gasoline flipped over on an off-ramp and caught fire, igniting a blaze that caused the northbound lanes to collapse and severely damaging the southbound lanes. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro issued a disaster declaration on Monday to expedite repairs. Meanwhile, alternative routes have made commutes much longer for hundreds of thousands of drivers and will likely raise shipping costs as truckers are forced to take lengthy detours.
