| | | Hello. As the war in Gaza continues, my colleagues at BBC Verify and BBC Arabic have new analysis showing the sheer scale of destruction in the territory. We're reporting on the extent of poverty in Argentina - a nation divided over how to escape its economic crisis. And scroll down for fascinating reports about the only artwork painted by all four Beatles, and America's last wilderness. |

| Satellite data analysis obtained by the BBC reveals the true extent of destruction in Gaza since Israel launched its retaliation for the Hamas attacks of 7 October. It suggests between 144,000 and 175,000 Gaza’s buildings have been damaged or destroyed – 50-61% of the total. The Israel Defense Forces has said it is targeting both Hamas fighters and "terror infrastructure", when challenged over the scale of damage. | | | |

AT THE SCENE | Buenos Aires, Argentina | 'In the country of beef, we can only afford chicken' | | Oriana and Samir voted for Argentina's new leader Javier Milei in the hope he would tackle the country's inflation. Credit: BBC | Argentina is famed for its beef, exports of which once made it one of the world’s richest counties. But with an economic crisis leaving at least 40% of the population in poverty, a growing number simply can’t afford meat from the cattle that roam the Pampas. | | James Menendez and Alba Morgade, BBC World Service |

| Oriana and Samir, a young couple in their early 20s, live in a run-down neighbourhood of the capital. "It's very difficult," Oriana says. "You're constantly asking yourself - 'how am I going to make ends meet?'. We're the country of beef, but we only eat chicken because it's cheaper." Even chicken is a treat. Last year, inflation soared to 211%, the highest rate in three decades. In December alone, prices rose by more than 25%. The family share a small flat with their young daughter Chiara, and also Samir's parents and his brother. Paying the bills is a constant worry. The cost of food, but also rent, electricity and transport, keeps rising all the time. Samir is a self-employed delivery driver, but the economic crisis means demand has dropped sharply. His earnings can't keep up with rising prices. Plus he worries about growing insecurity on the streets, as people get more and more desperate. "They might kill you just for your cell phone," he says. |

| The big picture | Going for a song? | | The Fab Four each signed their portion of the painting. Credit: Christie’s |
| Actually, this isn't such a big picture - measuring 54.6 x 78.8cm (21.5 x 31in). But its cultural significance is huge. Images of a Woman is the only painting known to have been jointly created by all four Beatles - and it's going under the hammer this week. For BBC Culture, Deborah Nicholls-Lee tells the story of the artwork, from happi coats to death threats. | | |

| And finally... in Colombia | Police in Bogotá have charged a Brazilian woman with wildlife trafficking after they found 130 poisonous frogs in her luggage. That’s not a typo: these frogs are simply tiny. Local police said the colourful harlequin frogs can fetch up to $1,000 (£780) each. Take a look at these pictures released by Colombian authorities. |
