In planning for its future, Minneapolis tries not to repeat the past

Last fall, the Minneapolis Office of Police Conduct Review began reviewing body camera videos of officers using force with people they detain or arrest. Staff started to observe instances where individuals in police custody were injected with something.

Previously, Minnesotans had to have a reason they could not vote in person on election day to submit an absentee ballot, but the new law gave everyone the option. Minnesotans can vote in person at an early voting center or via no-excuse absentee ballot by mail at least 46 days before the election.

There have been 1,442 children 5 and older reunified with their parents in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody and 378 others who were released "in other appropriate circumstances," including to other sponsors. Still, more than 700 parents were deemed not eligible or currently not eligible.
