Information for the media – First Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World, 3-5 June

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will host the first-ever Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World, from 3 to 5 June 2025 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The invitation-only event will see over 250 people from more than 100 organisations attend, bringing together representatives from the Olympic Movement, United Nations agencies, development and financing institutions, purpose-led businesses, safe sport and other communities – all of which are working towards the common purpose of advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through sport.

Over three days, the Summit will showcase best practices and the collective impact of sport, and will culminate in further commitments and concrete action to advance sustainable development through sport.

Key themes to be discussed at the Summit include advancing sport’s role in building healthier, equitable and more sustainable communities through policy, collaboration and innovation, as well as innovative financing and capacity-building to strengthen sport for development initiatives, including a focus on Safe Sport tools and resources.

Attendees aiming to mobilise joint action include IOC President Thomas Bach, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, CEO of the Italian public bank Istituto per il Credito Sportivo Antonella Baldino, Olympic gold medallist and founder of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, Abhinav Bindra, the 46th President of Costa Rica and IOC Member Laura Chinchilla, and Visa’s Chief Sustainability Officer Nate Hurst, among many other sport, business and civil society leaders.

You can find more information about the event here and a detailed schedule and programme here.

This is an invitation-only event for media personnel. However, please note that all four Plenary Sessions will be livestreamed on IOC Media YouTube and a Video News Release will be available post-event on the IOC Newsroom.

If you have any questions regarding the Summit, please contact pressoffice@olympic.org.
