Innovation and ideas in challenging times

Hello dear university sports family,

We hope you have continued to find inspiration, ideas and joy despite these challenging times. We surely have! Close on the heels of our #FitAtHome campaign, we launched the digital University World Cup Football Team Challenge on 14 May, bringing together eight teams that had participated in the inaugural tournament in Jinjiang, People’s Republic of China last November.
Instead of football matches on ground, this time we had the teams compete with juggling compilation videos that were shot separately in individual homes (due to isolation and quarantine) and then put together as a seamless sequence. The resulting videos are delightful!
It turned out to be great fun, not just for the participating teams but also for fans of university sport who voted by the thousands at each stage of the virtual 'tournament'.
It has been a time of innovation also for our member federations, both national and continental ones. Find out what they've been up to and how they have innovated in these difficult times, in the stories that follow.
