Tech happens, right? It certainly did on June 6th, but luckily, we were able to pivot to host the 2nd Annual Inside Organic Summit on June 21st and still share the amazing content our partners had prepared. This year’s theme, “Elevating Organic Awareness”, allowed leading experts to dive into the latest data, policies and research shaping the organic marketplace. National Organic Program’s Dr. Jenny Tucker gave an update on the new Strengthening Organic Enforcement rule, experts from Acosta, NielsenIQ and Whipstitch Capital outlined today’s organic consumer, while researchers from Rodale Institute and Organic Center discussed the scientific organic research to pay attention to. What You Should Know About Electronic Import Certificates
The U.S.organic agriculture sector has seen unprecedented growth over the past decade. As sales of domestic organic products continue to grow, global organic supply chains have become increasingly more complex. The Strengthening Organic Enforcement (SOE) final rule requires importers to use electronic NOP Import Certificates for all organic products coming into the U.S. to improve the oversight and traceability of those imported products. The new system is being tested with certifiers and importers. The electronic NOP Import Certificate will be required starting March 19, 2024. Read more here. |
