| | | Edition 28 | 2024 | | Dear John Do, | | In 2023, films were shot on 1,741 days in Hamburg and the trend is rising. Malika Rabahallah, who became director of Filmfest Hamburg in early 2024, hopes to continue this positive trend and bring even more international productions to Hamburg. “This industry is driven by passion, but doesn't make it easy for the protagonists. “Filmmaking takes courage, but it's worth it. In an interview with Hamburg News, Rabahallah, a French national, highlights the difference between cinema and streaming and the kind of films she would like to show during the 32nd Filmfest Hamburg (September 26 to October 5, 2024). In other news, the ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research is increasing in size, Hamburger Hochbahn has announced a record investment, a new hydrogen storage facility is being planned in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and a new university study sheds light on EU emissions trading.
