Hey Bitcoiners! Going forward, Weekly Bits is going to have a "bit" more content than the usual deliveries from Bitcoin Magazine.

We feel that our readers need to know a little bit more about what's going on in the world of Bitcoin. This includes (but is certainly not limited to) Bitcoin news, hash rate updates, price updates, news outside of Bitcoin that also matters, and an evergreen article here and there as well. So sit back, grab a drink, and get synced up with the latest in Bitcoin this week.
In this week's episode of the Bitcoin Magazine Weekly Bits podcast, editors Peter Chawaga and Christie Harkin discuss the evolution of bitcoiners in recent years, a proposed sandbox platform for easier Bitcoin development and growing services that offer to pay interest on your HODLings...in exchange for custody.

Rabbit Hole Read Of The Week

This week's Rabbit Hole Read is Nick Szabo's Shelling Out: The Origins of Money, written back in 2002. This is a must-read in the journey to understanding why bitcoin is valuable. In order grasp why bitcoin has intrinsic value, it is crucial to learn about where money came from before it was distributed by central banks.

Abstract:
"The precursors of money, along with language, enabled early modern humans to solve problems of cooperation that other animals cannot – including problems of reciprocal altruism, kin altruism, and the mitigation of aggression."
