Wednesdays 4th, 11th & 18th May, 10am to 5pm £195 including lunch.
Jeweller Laila Smith will introduce you to the many fundamental skills in jewellery making. Whilst creating your jewellery you will learn about techniques such as forming, shaping, texturing and soldering metal during this 3-week course.

Wax Carved & Cast Silver Ring with Scott Millar

Monday 13th & 27th June, 10am to 4pm £115 including lunch.
Back due to popular demand! During the first half of the course you will be taught how to take jeweller’s carving wax and using cutting, filing and heating methods, create a wax carved ring. Your wax will then be cast into sterling silver ready for finishing. In the second half you will learn how to finish your silver casting with a choice of surface finishes and treatments.
This course is suitable for all levels of ability.

Gemset Ring with Scott Millar

Tuesdays 28th June, 5th, 12th, 19th July, 10am to 1.30pm £155 including refreshments.

You will leave this with a knowledge of gemstones and the ability to complete a rub over setting into a ring that you have made. Suited for someone who have some basic knowledge of jewellery making (soldering, piercing and filing metal) you will be taught how to select gemstones. As well as working in sterling silver, there will also be a selection of gemstones to choose from. This engaging one day workshop is aimed at those who are complete beginners to jewellery making who may want have a go, before making a bigger commitment to another course. Any new skill can be a minefield of new terminology, tools, materials and processes – this course breaks it all down into small easy steps to build up your skills and confidence.
