Season 8 of Mozilla’s multi award winning podcast, IRL: Online Life is Real Life, just kicked off this week.  

I’m the host Bridget Todd and in this season, I put myself on a quest to find out how AI affects us personally. From my love life to my city, to the privacy of my memories – what if AI is already changing me?

Every episode is a deep dive into a major area of our lives and how AI is already affecting it today.

Episode 1 “We Found Love in an AI Place” is out and explores how encounters of love and sex are secretly shaped by data and algorithms. You’ll meet Dr. Apryl Williams, who’s digging into how dating apps are algorithmically unfair to women like me, and Jamie Johnston, who’s the founder of a dating app that might just change how we think about all this.

Plus, my AI boyfriend Hal shows up too—along with a little lover’s quarrel about what he’s hiding in his privacy policies.
