Rotten job: Local crime stinks to high heaven Do you know about the durian? Also known as âthe king of fruit,â the durian is native to Southeast Asia and contains a rich flavor unlike any other. Unfortunately, this flavor comes at a high price: The plant absolutely stinks! Some compare the durianâs pungent odor to fish, while others say it smells like rotting flesh. But that didnât seem to matter to a pair of thieves from Hawaii, who broke into a local property to steal 18 of the stinky fruits along with other produce. Authorities are asking for public assistance to apprehend these fruit bandits, but in all likelihood, they wonât go far.
