Ending homelessness: Within the last year, 555 formerly homeless New Orleans residents have received housing through a plan by Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration to clear the city’s major homeless encampments by the end of this year. But some critics, namely the nonprofits that provide services for the homeless, say the city is moving too fast. Sophie Kasakove has this look at what's working and what isn't. Commandments contested: Louisiana public schools will find out whether they have to post the Ten Commandments in every classroom by Nov. 15, according to a federal judge who heard arguments over the contested law in court on Monday. Patrick Wall has the details from court. Commit or pay: Louisiana must commit to a $3 billion coastal restoration project that's been in limbo for months or return the money intended to pay for it, federal officials warned in a recent letter. As Mike Smith reports, the warning raises the specter that state taxpayers could have to repay around $500 million in funds already spent on the project. Thanks for reading.
