Israel-Hamas ceasefire has begun, halting fighting after 15 months

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has officially come into effect, Israel has confirmed, after a last-minute delay that saw strikes continue.

Thirty-three Israeli hostages and 1,904 Palestinian prisoners and detainees will be gradually released starting today.
