Greetings from Missouri. The No. 23-ranked LSU Tigers are back on the road Saturday to take on No. 21 Missouri. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN between LSU (3-2, 2-1 SEC) and Mizzou (5-0, 1-0). LSU is the betting favorite, still a 5.5-point choice per Caesars. But something tells me that number doesn't bring much comfort to LSU fans. Not after the Tigers' defense got shredded in a 55-49 loss last week at Ole Miss to the tune of a school record 706 total yards. LSU was a favorite in that game, too. LSU coach Brian Kelly had a busy week, bringing back legendary defensive line coach Pete Jenkins as a defensive analyst and booting cornerback Duce Chestnut off the team, at least for now. Now he tries to led his team into getting its season back on track instead of slipping into a real no man's land with a 3-3 record at the midway point. What are the keys to a victory for the visiting Tigers? We're so glad you asked. We've got them for you right here. The game will be a homecoming for LSU defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo, who transfered from Missouri last year and immediately became an All-American. What's it like for him to go back to Coumbia, Mo.? Our Wilson Alexander has the story. Spencer Urquhart is here with the big Week 6 college football predictions, including his take on LSU-Mizzou. How about the top five SEC storylines for this week? Our Sheldon Mickles is so glad you asked. Finally, here's my column on the game, as the Tigers try to follow "The Path" back to a winning season and avoid the path to disaster. That's all for now, folks. Be sure to check out all our coverage from Columbia on Saturday. And of course read our LSU newsletter each and every day. Scott Rabalais |
