It’s game day: LSU versus Texas A&M

It’s game day: LSU versus Texas A&M

Rise and shine, Tiger fans.

Got to give it your all early today, as LSU hosts Texas A&M in an 11 a.m. kickoff on ESPN from Tiger Stadium.

Apart from the ungodly hour, it is a huge game for one Jayden Daniels and his Heisman Trophy hopes. One last chance to leave a lasing impression with Heisman voters (they’re called electors) with a strong effort against a strong defense (the Aggies are ranked eighth in the FBS in total defense).

Check out our staff picks for the Tigers and Aggies to see if you agree with any of our scores.

We’ve also got the top five topics in the SEC for this last weekend of the regular season.

Meanwhile, basketball is pushing for headlines, too — for good and bad.

The LSU women beat Niagara 99-65 in the Cayman Islands on Friday behind a strong double-double effort from Aneesah Morrow, but it was perhaps a costly victory as starting forward Sa’Myah Smith went down with a knee injury that will require an MRI. And yes, the Tigers again played without star forward Angel Reese and guard Kateri Poole, neither of whom accompanied LSU on the trip. The Tigers finish their Caribbean doubleheader at 4 p.m. Saturday against Virginia.

Finally, the LSU men picked up their third straight victory Friday, knocking off North Florida in the PMAC 75-63.

Thanks for reading and subscribing during the regular season. We’re far from done yet, and we’ll of course take you through bowl season, the basketball seasons, baseball, gymnastics, softball and, yes, next summer’s Olympic Games.

So stay with us. There’s much, much more to come from the best one-stop LSU coverage shop you can find.

Enjoy your college football Saturday, folks.
