It's my first day on the job

It’s a remarkable day for me. It’s my first day as the Senior Political Reporter at the Forward and I’m honored to join this newsroom, especially in such a historic moment for our country. I’m proud to be a part of the history of this 123-year-old community that began as a print Yiddish-language daily and flourished into the digital national Jewish media outlet that it is today.

You may know me from my reporting on the Orthodox community’s resistance to social-distancing rules, which prompted hateful and even violent attacks that were picked up by national outlets including New York Magazine — the Forward even published a profile about me last spring. I’m a self-taught reporter and my values of always asking the hard questions and saying “yes” to every opportunity are closely aligned with the Forward’s mission.

As the Senior Political Reporter, I’ll be leading the Forward’s coverage of this year’s local elections in New York City; the early days of the Biden Administration; and the repercussions of Israel’s fourth national elections in two years, scheduled for March. As I launch into this new role, I’m eager to continue the Forward’s legacy of fearless, independent Jewish journalism, especially during such a crucial moment for our democracy.
