James Fields guilty of first-degree murder for killing Heather Heyer when he drove his car into crowd after Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia

James Alex Fields Jr. was described by federal prosecutors as a Nazi sympathizer who advocated violence against blacks and Jews on social media and who participated in chants promoting white supremacy and racist views during a white nationalist rally. Jurors also convicted Fields of eight other charges, including aggravated malicious wounding and hit and run.
