DAPPER DAN's influence on fashion has struck once again, this time in side-by-side comparisons of a look from GUCCI Resort 2018 and a Dapper Dan custom creation from 1988. Plenty of commentary. Would love it if someone got MR. DAY and MR. MICHELE in a room together. What would they have to say, together, about mutual inspirations, copying, and the design process? There are clear gulfs in experience between the two, but a lot of similarities too... Just returned from PORTLAND, so this RACKED feature on clothing for survivalists, aka the "prepper" movement, had some moments of recognition for me.
