| rantnrave:// REDEF familia!! I missed you. Back in LA. I very much needed and took 3-weeks off in NYC. Mostly just chilled. TV and movies. I think I watched everything. If PRINCE STREET PIZZA delivered to me I'd be in real trouble. Some observations... You're not watching BILLIONS? WTF is wrong with you? The show is on another level this season. And like THE SOPRANOS some of the best moments, if not most of them, are deep into the marriage storylines. Trust, love, betrayal, power, partnership. All there. ASIA KATE DILLON plays wunderkind TAYLOR MASON. Perfect mix of cold analytical genius and burgeoning emotion. By far the best new character on TV. Just watch. I even like how BOBBY AXELROD eats pizza. His "no inner-monologue" phone meltdown is a classic. We've all been there. Music supervision stepped it up too. Sounds like LONG ISLAND in the 70's. I feel like I went to CAMP WINAUKEE with whoever is picking the tracks. My only small pet peeve is I'd like to see them step up the production design. It's a budget issue, but in that rich world, I need more detail. If you're going to do a billionaire's birthday, go big... Ever since TRUMP railed on the intelligence community coupled with allegations of Russian election interference, cable TV schedulers have backed up the truck for spy movies. I think in one sitting I noticed all of these on the grid. BRIDGE OF SPIES, BODY OF LIES, THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, SPY GAME, GHOST WRITER, THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, THE GOOD SHEPHERD, SALT, BREACH, NO WAY OUT, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE and more. This was all fine by me. I then watched THE COMPANY mini-series on STARZ's OTT service. And finally a doc about famous British turncoat KIM PHILBY, THE SPY WHO WENT INTO THE COLD on NETFLIX. I'd love to learn more about how schedulers take real-life events and turn them into movies on the lineup. Seemed like there were more of them than LAW & ORDER episodes... Speaking of Law & Order, producer DICK WOLF made a smart decision by taking syndication money. Minted. It's seemingly on somewhere every day, like the new I LOVE LUCY. That said, the franchises could literally have their own OTT channel. Would you pay for it? My favorite episode ever? I think it's season 7 / 3 episode arc (149-151) about a HOLLYWOOD murder starring pal CAREY LOWELL as Assistant District Attorney JAMIE ROSS. Still, love this show like an old friend. More? Yes! SUNDANCETV hooked us all up by playlisting a marathon which featured all the episodes with mafia storylines. Incidentally, everyone that's ever been on Law & Order can be found at an EQUINOX in LA midday. I like spotting the ones that have played 2+ roles. Once a murderer, now the defense attorney... Trump and KIM JONG-UN are like a couple breaking up on Instagram... 11 years after HULU formed, one of their owners brings basic TV Everywhere to their service. Sigh... I'm going deep on information and video around bear hibernation and "denning" #internets... I have the second highest score in #NeverTrump on WII... A reset and starting over are not the same... I thought I worked hard. Then I met RYAN SEACREST... Happy Birthday to TIMIR KARIA, SIMON ENDRES, ALEX KASSAN, KATE HOBBS, GARY ELLIS and SCOTT CAMPBELL. Belated to MARK BEAVEN, SCOTT MOORE and SCOTT EHRLICH. | | - Jason Hirschhorn, curator |
