| rantnrave:// And they say DONALD TRUMP doesn't respect women. With a single word Wednesday night, he handed a priceless gift to two of them. Streams of JANET JACKSON's "NASTY" went through the SPOTIFY roof in the following 24 hours, and Jackson became part of what may be the last great meme of the presidential campaign. "Could Donald Trump have ever thought," writes NPR's SAM SANDERS, "that calling his opponent a 'nasty woman' would reintroduce the nation to one of America's great moments in pop feminism?" That question answers itself. It's doubtful, for starters, the Republican candidate is familiar with the cultural history of the adjective he intended to hurt his opponent with, or how it could be instantly turned around to become a badge of honor for her. That has something to do with the particular circumstances of this presidential campaign and a lot to do with the power of feminism, but one classic 1986 pop single stands proudly at the center of this deliciously nasty moment... KANYE WEST says "APPLE/TIDAL bulls***" is one of the reasons he and JAY Z can't make a WATCH THE THRONE 2 (along with "some political s***, some s*** about percentages on songs"). Kanye is one of Tidal's original owners and has been an active participant in the Apple/Tidal bulls***. So maybe, oh, I don't know, just carry on... It's FRIDAY and that means new music from LADY GAGA, D.R.A.M., LEONARD COHEN, NX WORRIES, AMERICAN FOOTBALL, TANYA TAGAQ, DAVID CROSBY, RADIO DEPT., WEYES BLOOD, JOHN K. SAMSON, JIMMY EAT WORLD and the PRETENDERS. | | - Matty Karas, curator |

With cold, treble-tipped tremolo riffs, agonized rasps and Satanic imagery, black metal might seem like the farthest thing from acoustic folk. But despite their distance, acoustic guitar has slowly crept into black metal since its unholy birth, even with the strict cultural norms that once governed the sound and image of black metal. | |
