While many of the issues we work on don’t break down ... along clear partisan lines, Trump's election and the resulting shift in the balance of power could result in hard-fought and historic victories for musicians being rolled back. Musicians and their allies must be prepared to organize and fight to defend these victories.

rantnrave:// On Tuesday, some were angry, some mourned, and some celebrated. KRIST NOVOSELIC called for election reform not only to the electoral college but on a local level, HENRY ROLLINS wrote about the profound sadness of our divided country and what he's seen firsthand while touring around it, the FUTURE OF MUSIC COALITION speculated on what the election could mean for musicians, and AZEALIA BANKS either trolled everyone or was genuinely estactic, who knows... Whatever you were doing, you were listening to music. The PITCHFORK staff shared their picks, while MAC MILLER saw his track "DONALD TRUMP" climb back onto the ITUNES chart... I could tell publishers were in shock Tuesday morning, because my feeds were awash in listicles of musician reactions, reports on the Pharmabro who shall not be named seeking his five minutes of fame by sharing the unheard WU-TANG album, and things pretending to be stories about LADY GAGA protesting rather than the substance I'm used to finding out there every day... You know what? We took a day off. Now it's time to get back to work, as MICHELLE OBAMA has said. Bring on some content to fire people up for the rest of this week. Don't slip into oblivion... If you're searching for a little bit of light, let me point you toward SNOOP DOGG and MARTHA STEWART. Wow... One parting word of advice, as I take my leave filling in as guest curator: Don't sleep on the new HOPE SANDOVAL AND THE WARM INVENTIONS album. It's stellar.
