Horowitz eaves behind a network molded in his image and controversial. He leaned in heavily into debate and personality driven shows. Last week, Fox Sports laid off its digital team and transitioned to a video-only format online. The strategy was to build up and build around big personalities. Will Fox continue down this path without its brainchild around? It could be the second left turn in the last five years. Horowitz's decision to go big on personality wasn't unique -- ESPN has followed suit by repurposing SPORTSCENTER and by amplifying FIRST TAKE, which Horowitz developed -- but it went further than any competitor. Fox also owns MLB, NFL, soccer and other sports rights, and that's a part of its DNA, too. Fox Sports is trying to build its brand further. Will the next chief feel as passionately about what Horowitz left behind?... How much should an NBA player make and which team should pay him? Those are the questions asked during NBA free agency every year. But what if the paradigm is wrong? The NBA works under a cap system with maximum salaries. The NFL has a salary cap but no max. MLB doesn't have a hard cap or a max. What would all these leagues look like if there were no restrictions? NBA stars have long been underpaid employees. STEPH CURRY signed a $201 million contract with the WARRIORS but, as LEBRON JAMES points out, he's worth more. I'd love to see leagues without caps and max salaries.
