Jeff Landry, Shawn Wilson again run 1-2 in new poll

Poll results: Attorney General Jeff Landry and former state Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson would make a runoff if the governor's race were held today, according to a poll commissioned by The Advocate and several partners. But Landry has the highest name recognition among seven major candidates, Tyler Bridges reports.

Schools reopen: Bus drivers and cafeteria workers returned to East Baton Rouge Parish schools Tuesday after staging a mass sickout and forcing school closures on Monday, Charles Lussier reports. But changes to the school day to accommodate worker shortages are coming.

Cantrell funeral: New Orleans' first First Gentleman, Jason Cantrell, was laid to rest Tuesday at a somber ceremony at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in the Broadmoor neighborhood, Sophie Kasakove reports. Cantrell, husband to Mayor LaToya Cantrell, died of a heart attack Aug. 15 at age 55.
