Become a Christian Counselor of healing Cure the sick in it and say to them, 'The Kingdom of God is at hand for you.' St. Luke 10:9
In St. Luke 10:1-9, Jesus instructs his disciples to go ahead of him and visit every town, give peace, and cure the sick. We refer to the gospel to remind you that the sick are not just the people with physical ailments, but they are also the people who who live with mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Unlike a physical sickness, you may not be able to recognize your parishioners who live with a mental health condition -- either because you're not aware of the signs or you don't recognize them as common psychological problems. Our university is aware of the lack of awareness about mental health, which is why we encourage community leaders, like you, to gain the education necessary to properly heal people who are secretly suffering. In the Master of Science in Counseling degree, you can get a scientific, theological, and philosophical understanding of the human mind and behavior, which will enable you to strategically help parishioners, married couples, and families face their mental health problems. Additionally, this degree will empower you to: Improve your relationship with other people Evaluate the effectiveness of groups (e.g. families, colleagues) Act professionally in situations where de-escalation, negotiation, and crisis intervention are needed |
