The Landscape
As more Americans leave their jobs in search of better pay and benefits, wage growth has become a source of inflationary pressure. A recent ZipRecruiter survey found 64% of job-switchers are making more than they did at their previous job, and more than a quarter of economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal said wage growth poses the biggest inflationary risk in the current year. "It's great to get wage gains but not if it's pushing up inflation further," said Grant Thornton's Diane Swonk.

The unicorn herd is growing rapidly

Last year a "staggering" 355 startups reached unicorn status, momentum that has continued into this year as well, PitchBook writes. "As of March 31, we have seen the debut of 75 unicorn companies, with standouts such as Datavant, Fireblocks, Fanatics Trading Cards and Black Unicorn Factory," PitchBook writes.
