Besh is back: John Besh was widely regarded as the leading chef in New Orleans before sexual harassment complaints rocked his company in 2017. He swiftly stepped down from operating the business and all but vanished from the scene. Now, Besh is becoming a more visible presence as he embarks on a major project, a Louisiana seafood restaurant in Spanish Plaza. Ian McNulty has the details, including a timeline of Besh's rise and fall. Fixed water bills: Most New Orleans residents should soon have the option of receiving fixed water bills and will get letters next month instructing them on how to enroll. Those letters presumably will also notify customers what their bills will cost, but it isn’t exactly clear how they’ll be calculated — or if they will comply with a new state law. Ben Myers explains. America Street killing: A New Orleans woman who helped her boyfriend flee from the house where he murdered his three children in a fire last year was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday. Missy Wilkinson has the details from the sentencing hearing, which included extra security after several court proceedings in the case ended with brawls.
