7 P.M. E.T. Antisemitism in America: Stories from the front lines
We’re excited to partner with the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan for an investigation into the roots and manifestations of antisemitism in America. When antisemitism is on the rise, who are the most vulnerable targets? The “visibly Jewish” in our community, Orthodox (Modern Orthodox and Haredi) are disproportionately targeted for physical and verbal attacks.
Forward opinion editor Laura E. Adkins will participate in the panel discussion moderated by award-winning journalist Avital Chizhik-Goldschmidt, with Nathan Diament, executive director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center; Rabbi Eli Cohen, executive director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council; and Rabbi Motti Seligson, director of media relations, Chabad Lubavitch. 7 P.M. ET 4 P.M. PT You Will Not Play Wagner
We're excited to partner with the Jewish Arts Collaborative Boston on You Will Not Play Wagner, a filmed play that was adapted for Zoom by South African playwright Victor Gordon just before he passed away from COVID-19.
You Will Not Play Wagner takes place across Boston, New York, and Tel Aviv as we Zoom across the world in a COVID-19 world. Ya’akov, a young Israeli upstart, causes a storm by selecting to perform Wagner in the finals of an international competition for conductors. He comes into conflict with Esther, Holocaust survivor and competition patron who has her own tragic connection with Wagner’s music, and Morris, the competition organizer. REGISTER →

7 P.M. E.T. The Boston Festival of New Jewish Music 1.2. Yaeko Miranda Elmaleh
We're excited to partner with the Boston Synagogue for the second concert of the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music, a free monthly concert series presenting original music drawing from the Jewish cultural experience.
Violinist Yaeko Miranda Elmaleh has performed at TD Garden alongside Stevie Wonder, Hines convention with Bernadette Peters and the off Broadway musical "Shlemiel the First" in NY. She's the founder of her own ensemble, a group that plays a blend of Latin, Jewish, Klezmer/Roma inspired music with an edge.
Her multicultural background, unique style along with training in classical and world music, inspire Yaeko to use her playing as a way to heal, soothe and transcend. REGISTER → VIEW ALL EVENTS
