I could sit here and talk about all the awful things I did before coming to The Joy House, but that would take ages. I’ll give you some of the highlights: I would skip class, I was rude constantly, and no one wanted to be around me because of it. But the changes that God has been able to make in me during my time at The Joy House have been so big that people notice. We discussed who we are in Christ during a united weekend my Grammy hosted at my house. I commented on how I was now a new person, and my group leader, Mrs. Mariah, started crying. She said, “Seeing all that God has done in your life is truly amazing. Seeing how far you have come in your walk with Christ, just amazes me.” If it weren’t for The Joy House, I would not be who I am today. They were a vessel that allowed God to work in me, through my roommate Emily, through Mr. Chase and Mrs. Veronica, and through pastor Eddie and pastor Jacob, and many other people. I am truly forever greatful for the Joy House. |
