BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer The Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, the state's infamous high-security prison, has been at the center of a multitude of lawsuits and sharply critical reports by outside agencies over the past few decades. Now, U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick has ordered federal oversight of the facility, saying the prison has continued to violate inmates' constitutional rights by systematically ignoring their medical needs. "The human cost ... is unspeakable," Dick wrote. To give a helping hand for Thanksgiving, several Baton Rouge restaurants are offering holiday bundles and individual dishes to preorder for the big day. They can make feeding family and friends simple and easy, from fridge to table. The LSU women's basketball team failed in several key areas in its surprising 92-78 loss to No. 20 Colorado in the season opener in Las Vegas. Coach Kim Mulkey said the Tigers struggled to communicate and didn't play with enough toughness or physicality.
