Luxury boxes

Rissmann introduces the PURE collection, a 2 in 1novel concept that seamlessly merges a display box with an integrated inlay.

Crafted from only two different pieces of premium and sustainable cardboard and paper, PURE Collection offers two distinct edge finishes: meticulously die-cut or precisely grooved. These options allow for captivating interplay between cardboard and paper hues, or the creation of impeccably sharp 90° edges, transforming them into a defining element of the overall design.

Both models have been ingeniously "in house" conceived and developed for effortless assembly through a glue-free, plug-in mechanism. This innovative design ensures secure product presentation and steadfast containment. Discreet lateral windows offer intriguing glimpses of the product within, while maintaining optimal protection.

The external decoration of these initial samples showcases the captivating effect of transfer finishing, exhibiting dynamic reflections that shift with varying light exposure.

The PURE Collection boxes are fully customizable to meet specific brand requirements. Delivered flat to optimize shipping and storage efficiency, manufacturing options are available across Europe, America, and Asia, ensuring global accessibility

Belgian biosurfactants in the US

AmphiStar and Kensing announced a strategic partnership to deliver sustainable, next-generation biosurfactants to the North American personal care market.

As part of this collaboration, AmphiStar’s biosurfactants, produced by microbial fermentation of repurposed agri-food side streams, will be launched into the North American market by Kensing in an exclusive partnership. Leveraging its surfactant expertise and established market access, Kensing will play a critical role in driving adoption across the Personal Care and HI&I Industries.

Kensing will work with AmphiStar to develop regionally sourced circular feedstocks from biobased waste and sidestreams, such as plant oils from Kensing’s production, with a near-term plan to fully onshore production in the US. This will not only reduce transport-related emissions but will also allow the partners to build a resilient, decentralised supply chain aligned with evolving customer expectations.

New partnership

Beiersdorf is making a strategic investment in the biotechnology company Vincere Biosciences. Together with the Cambridge, Massachusetts–based company, Beiersdorf plans to develop new solutions for skin care. The partnership aims to translate scientific insights into cellular health and rejuvenation into innovative skin care products.

A central focus of the collaboration is mitophagy—the process by which damaged mitochondria are broken down within cells. This process is vital for maintaining cellular health and plays a key role in skin aging.

Beiersdorf brings to the partnership its long-standing expertise in the research of coenzyme Q10, a naturally occurring molecule and antioxidant that is essential for cellular vitality and mitochondrial health. Since the introduction of Q10 into NIVEA skin care products in 1998, Beiersdorf has been a pioneer in developing effective active ingredients for cosmetics.

TREND UPDATE

Ideas, thoughts, critics, trends, forecasts - what the industry talks about.

"The cosmetics industry is shifting towards a more holistic view of aging, focusing on skin longevity. Moving away from anti-aging narratives, the emphasis is now on preventive solutions to support long-term skin health by addressing aging at its root causes, especially cellular senescence.
This biological process, where cells cease to divide due to stress or damage, can contribute to aging by altering tissue structure. Senescent cells release the SMS (Secretome Messenger of Senescence), which can induce senescence in nearby cells, promoting contagious aging.
Key triggers include DNA damage, oxidative stress or nuclear dysfunctions like lamin A deficiencies, a protein vital for cell function.
Different ways can be considered to cope with senescence, by targeting the triggers or the outcomes. “Juvenessence”, an Alaria esculenta extract, reduces Progerin, a degraded form of Lamin A, while “Aspar’age” helps regulate the effects of contagious aging. This active ingredient, thanks to mycosporine like amino acids, is able to protect young fibroblasts from senescence by lowering IL-6 secretion and reducing β-galactosidase activity, effectively mitigating the senescence of nearby young cells."
