June Update Dear First of all my apologies to everyone for not having written a newsletter sooner. Numerous ladies have told me off; apparently you enjoy receiving them! If you don’t, you have the power to unsubscribe.
News As lots of you already know I am on the waiting list for a new hip. I am hoping for it to be sorted during July/August, as it’s a reasonably quiet time at the shop. I think it might be pie in the sky but I am living in hope. On the premise that it’s going to happen I have already decided to shut on Saturdays in August. During my convalescence Thimblestitch will still be open during the week but might be shorter hours. If you like Thimblestitch's page on Facebook I will be able to keep everyone posted as to opening hours etc. On the toilet front ............I am running out of room to display them hence we are saving for a toilet block for the Rohingya people who lost everything when they fled Myanmar for Bangladesh. Two years on, they are still living in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar. Toilet blocks are £240. There will not be an Exhibition of the Woodmanton Girls this August but they will be definitely back next August. Since October we have had in lots of new fabric ranges, which I have managed to post on Facebook/Instagram so it another good reason to like my page.
New In Now Stocking recycled toy stuffing made from plastic bottles, complies with all British standards for all my ecologically minded customers. Clear Vinyl – easily stitched very useful for see thru pockets in bags sold by the metre or in a 16” x 54” piece. Easily stitched. Prym’s white Cartridge pencil with black, yellow and pink refills available. It’s very fine, ideal for marking seams, perfect for stencils. I just love these, sold out so more on order!! The other great item from Prym is their easy grip pins that are also sharp a joy to use. Another amazing product that’s new in is Bosal’s 1” strapping to complement the 1½”. its fusible both sides just a dream for bag handles. We now have a stand of Madeira’s Rayon Embroidery threads. Also I have started to stock DMC’s Etoile range still stranded but with a lovely sparkle.
