Announcing Winners of The Tempest Esports Business Awards
Inaugural Awards Program Honors the Industry’s Top Talent at the Esports Arena Las Vegas
The best and brightest in esports gathered at the Esports Arena Las Vegas last night to celebrate the winners and finalists of the Tempest Esports Business Awards. The inaugural event, presented by Access Intelligence brands Chief Marketer, Cynopsis and Event Marketer, honored over 60 frontrunners in the space, announced 19 winners, 12 honorees and 2 Hall of Fame inductees. The event kicked off with a networking and cocktail reception, where esports elite were able to mix and mingle in anticipation of the awards program, which was followed by a lively after-party.
On hand to help with presenting duties – and lend a little starpower – were Richard Lewis (Director of Talent, ESP Gaming), Doug “Censor" Martin (Professional Call of Duty Player), Sheila “Pterodactyl” Weidman (Streamer & Content Director, OpTic Gaming), Michele Morrow (Host, ELEAGUE) and Christopher “Monte Cristo” Mykles (Analyst, Overwatch League).
In addition to celebrating the talented award finalists, the event spotlighted 12 honorees on The Tempest “Watch List.” These are the game-changers on the forefront of the industry whose success and initiative ensure great potential and make them a must-watch group. This year’s “Watch List Honorees” are: Jinhee Ahn Kim – UTU Ltd. Julian Castro – Obey Alliance Robert Del Papa – Tempo Storm Kristen Salvatore – Twitch Markel Lee – Infinite Esports & Entertainment Mike LaBelle – New York Red Bulls Kalie Moore – The Story Mob Nicola Piggott – The Story Mob Anna Rozwandowicz – The Story Mob Siefe – Turtle Beach Jonathan Spector – Blizzard Entertainment Zorine Te – Player 2 The evening also recognized two esports legends, who were inducted into the Tempest Hall of Fame: Kevin Lin (Co-Founder of Twitch) and Hector Rodriguez (Founder of OpTic Gaming).
