On Wednesday 12 November, K4I will host a virtual debate on the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA Declaration) that was launched on 29 September by Commissioners Sefcovic and Breton! The event is the first opportunity for Members of the European Parliament to discuss with Bernd Schäfer, CEO of EIT Raw Materials who is in charge of managing ERMA why Europe needs a Raw Materials Alliance. The event is co-hosted by MEPs Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou and Maria da Graça Carvalho. |

Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, and Youth, will present and discuss with interested MEPs her plans for a future European Innovation Area and why it is needed on 19 November 2020 between 11:45 and 12:45. Commissioner Gabriel argues that now more than ever, there is the need to have an innovation strategy at the European level to better connect among innovation ecosystems, create synergies to enhance scaling-up what is done at the local level, and connect talent, knowledge, and finance across Europe. |

The Association of the European Renewable Energy Research Centres (EUREC) and EUREC members, the Federal Republic of Germany’s research centre for aeronautics and space (DLR) are organising the online workshop The role of green hydrogen in a carbon-neutral Europe on Tuesday 1st December 2020, from 2 to 5 pm. |

The aim of the workshop is to discuss green hydrogen’s current policies & technological solutions, challenges and opportunities to decarbonise industrial processes and economic sectors. |

EGI2020: a stunning success |

The EGI Foundation has successfully organised her annual conference, this time in a virtual format. With this year's theme "Federated infrastructures for connected communities", the aim was to bring together science, computing, and (international) collaboration through a diverse and interactive programme. |

The community-centered conference welcomed not only existing community members of the EGI Federation but also made a great effort to introduce newcomers to EGI by offering a dedicated 'new communities' track. With over 760 registrations, 300+ participating organisations, 200+ speakers, 58 sessions were greatly attended and appreciated by the participants over the course of 3 days. |
