Keep Animals from Eating Your Grapes

By littergitter

Keep Animals from Eating Your Grapes - bowl of grapesFor the past several years we didn't get to enjoy our Scuppernong grapes, except the ones we found as they were beginning to get ripe. Starting in August, before the grapes were fully ripe, the raccoons came at night and had a family reunion in our grapevine. They didn't even clean up after themselves.

Roasted Red Pepper and Habanero Hummus

By attosa

Roasted Red Pepper and Habanero Hummus in bowlThis hummus has some sweet heat. Roasting the peppers before pureeing them give them a nice caramelization, and the habanero gives it some kick. Use as much of the habanero as you like; I used two-thirds of one in this recipe.

Honey Baked Ham Bargain

Baby Dove on Nest

By Benetta

Baby Dove on Nest - dark feathered baby birdA pair of doves made a nest under the roof of our veranda. It has been incredible, watching them from day 1 when they started to build the nest, seeing mom sitting on the eggs and eventually, the first time we saw her bringing food to feed the little ones. I took the photo this morning when the mom flew off to find food.

Geometric Heart Card - finished card faceHere is another idea how you can recycle/reuse magazines. You can create your own greeting card, and leave the inside of the card blank. This is a thoughtful handmade card that is perfect as a thank you card, for teacher appreciation week, just a hello, happy birthday, it essentially can be used for any occasion!

Dear Webby's Joke of the Day
A teacher was giving a lesson on the blood circulation. "If I stood on my head, then the blood, as you know, would flow into my head and I would turn red in the face," she explained.

"That's right," remarked one of the students.

"Then why doesn't the blood flow into my feet when I'm standing upright in an ordinary position?"

Johnny shouted, "That's because your feet are not empty!"
