![]() This Week in Washington, D.C.The ERLC recently joined 12 other organizations in an amicus brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review an opinion by the First Circuit Court of Appeals in the case Carson v. Makin on religious discrimination in a Maine tuition-assistance program. The brief was filed in mid-March, led by the Christian Legal Society (CLS), and argued that the lower-court ruling not only violated the Constitution, but also the justices’ previous decisions regarding the use of funds to provide religious instruction and the families that choose faith-based schools.
