Benny Hill is steeped in the tradition of many of the past greats including Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley, Jackie McLean, Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. His improvisations on the Alto Saxophone are reminiscent of these greats, yet he has a distinct style and voice of his own. Benny is a true crowd-pleaser and never fails to raise excitement and enthusiasm while on stage. This concert will also be livestreamed on CAM's Facebook page and YouTube channel. This concert is part of CAM's Come Hear NC series, funded in part by the North Carolina Arts Council and AARP North Carolina.
Benny Hill also performed at Spring Arbor Senior Living as part of outreach associated with the Come Hear NC program, funded by the NCAC. Thank you Benny for performing outdoors to a socially distanced group of residents. |

Classes start Thursday, November 5 at 1 PM. Brennan will explore the intersection between each artist's personal life and their need to create art, while interweaving her own stories and experiences with each artist. |

Join CAM Cafe for dinner and live music with Josh Youse. Josh Youse is an instrumental musician based out of Wilmington, NC. He grew up in rural Pennsylvania, the son of a radio DJ who instilled in Josh a deep love for music. A self-taught guitarist, his musical stylings evolved from listening to classic vinyl records and learning to improvise melodies. He initially started out playing bass guitar and often incorporates several other percussive instruments into his performances. Josh’s actual degree is in Adventure Education Leadership and Wilderness Therapy and his original songs are often inspired by his extensive outdoor adventures and travels. Community Lantern Project 2020 Saturday, November 7, 11 AM-2 PM Free
Participants of all ages are invited to create a silhouette to grace this year’s Community Lantern. Choose your own profile or outline the features of someone dear and cut the image from black paper. Visit CAM on Saturday, November 7, where paper guru Fritzi Huber will be demonstrating and assisting with the cutting of your silhouette or create your silhouette at home with your own supplies (finished size no larger than 5” x 8”) and drop off your silhouette at CAM’s Front Desk by 5 PM on Saturday, November 7. A team of volunteers will arrange the profiles to create a community of portraits and shadows on the finished lantern. Like years before, the Community Lantern will be displayed in Illumination 2020 which opens November 20. |

In this intimate portrait of her life and work, she returns to her canvas for the first time in decades, revealing her longtime struggles as an artist and mother to find her rightful place in the art world.
