37-factor authentication: A motherβs answer to a nasty scam America isnβt the only country being bombarded with spam texts. In Japan, a common scam targeting seniors involves a single text message that just says βItβs me. I need money.β The scammer will then ask for a modest sum, and many of the victims assume that itβs a child or grandchild in need. But one woman wasnβt about to take this scam lightly. Instead of forking over cash, she decided to quiz the scammer on something only her child would know: βName all 37 Pretty Cures.β Pretty Cure is a cartoon for young girls, and to nobodyβs surprise, the scammer couldnβt even name one. Her kid, apparently, is a huge fan. If you thought that was clever, this older woman from Japan designed a video game just for seniors.
