Perfect attendance: Kim Mulkey's family goes the distance to show their support

As Kim Mulkey and her LSU Tigers prepare for their Sweet 16 contest Friday night against North Carolina State, she is getting plenty of support from her children, who do everything they can to attend her teams' NCAA Tournament games.

In some ways, they are simply paying her back for trying so hard to attend their events as they grew up. "She was at every big game and every school event. Not just sports but plays in elementary school, too," says her son, Kramer Robertson.

Louisiana is struggling to keep people in the state, and attract new residents, as two-thirds of parishes lost population last year.

“The region and state have struggled for a long time,” said Greg Rusovich, a shipping industry veteran. “Louisiana hasn't progressed the way other Southern states have. So what do we do about it?”
