| | With Russia in need of weapons to support its war in Ukraine, the likelihood of North Korea coming to its aid appears to be increasing. A US official said North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un plans to travel to Russia to meet President Vladimir Putin, prompting suggestions he might repeat a journey by armoured train to Vladivostok he made in 2019. Russia’s defence minister viewed Pyongyang’s missiles in July, and the White House has said arms negotiations are "actively advancing". There's concern Moscow might at some point return the favour by handing over munitions, or advanced weapons technology. But it might be a simple case of arms for food.
