Situational Analysis | July 27, 2022 Good Wednesday morning to ya. It's National Crème Brûlée Day, a dessert that looks fancy, tastes amazing and is super easy to make. Be in the Know Previously undisclosed emails provide an inside look at the efforts by advisers to President Donald J. Trump to reverse his election defeat in the weeks before the Jan. 6 attack. âWe would just be sending in âfakeâ electoral votes to Pence so that âsomeoneâ in Congress can make an objection when they start counting votes, and start arguing that the âfakeâ votes should be counted,â Jack Wilenchik, a Phoenix-based lawyer who helped organize the pro-Trump electors in Arizona, wrote in a Dec. 8, 2020, email to Boris Epshteyn, a strategic adviser for the Trump campaign. In a follow-up email, Mr. Wilenchik wrote that ââalternativeâ votes is probably a better term than âfakeâ votes,â adding a smiley face emoji. US Attorney General Merrick Garland calls the Justice Department's Jan. 6 probe the 'most wide-ranging investigation in its history" and does not rule out criminal charges for Donald Trump. Rapid Roundup A fire broke out inside the Orem LDS temple that is still under construction, the body of a missing Layton man is found in Arizona, Buzz Aldrin's Apollo 11 moon jacket sells at auction for an astronomical $2.8M, only 31 new emojis will be introduced this year (down from 300+ in 2020), and RIP to the Choco Taco. | |
