Now that Commonwealth Bank of Australia has established private equity's interest in Australia's superannuation sector, National Australia Bank is keen to make the most of it.

It is understood NAB and its bankers are keeping a handful of private equity firms busy with MLC Wealth, which is targeted for a demerger or IPO subject to market conditions. And the private equity firms, still smarting from KKR's deal at Colonial First State, are keen to take an early look.

Elsewhere, we look at an Australian private equity firm that is having no trouble raising its latest fund, and reveal which Australian listed equities fund managers are top of the pops heading into the financial year end.
