Pedro Snchez encourages more coordinated action on rapid tests

The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, took part by video-conference in an informal meeting of the European Council that focused on the COVID-19 pandemic. At the meeting, the 27 Member States addressed how to step up the collective effort to fight the pandemic, and analysed the current situation of testing to detect the virus, contact tracing and future vaccines.

The President of the Government, Pedro Snchez, advocated concluding the state of emergency in the Lower House after four months if the Inter-territorial Council of the National Health System considers that it is no longer necessary. Government approves Draft National Budget for 2021

The annual accounts contain the largest item of social spending ever and seek to combat the effects of the crisis caused by COVID-19, the socio-economic reconstruction of the country and the transformation of its productive model. The government also agreed to request the extension of the state of emergency declared on Sunday from the Lower House.

Government decrees state of emergency to provide full constitutional coverage to measures necessary to tackle pandemic in regions

The Council of Ministers, at an extraordinary session on Sunday, approved a Royal Decree to declare an initial 15-day state of emergency, extendable to six months, to respond to the situation of special risk stemming from the COVID-19 virus.
