​President of the Government visits military contingents deployed in Estonia and Latvia

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, accompanied by the Minister for Defence, Mara Dolores de Cospedal, will visit the troops deployed in Estonia and Latvia on 17 and 18 July.

Mariano Rajoy announces 5-billion euro investment in highways through public-private collaboration

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, presented, at Moncloa Palace, an extraordinary plan affecting more than 2,000 kilometres of highways and creating close to 190,000 jobs without increasing the public deficit. The economic recovery allows us to boost investment in infrastructure which, in turn, will boost competitiveness and territorial structure, he claimed.

Mariano Rajoy expects new Law on the Self-Employed to enter into force "this year"

During the Government control session in the Lower House of Parliament, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, reiterated his intention to continue fighting corruption and also recalled that the President of the Government is "solely" responsible for "appointing and removing ministers".

Mariano Rajoy describes "the first step" towards approval of the 2018 Budget as an "excellent message"

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, expressed his satisfaction at the approval, in the Lower House of Parliament, of the government agreement setting the budget stability and public debt targets for the period 2018-2020 and the limit on non-financial State spending for 2018, known as the "ceiling on spending".
