The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, received the tennis player Garbie Muguruza at Moncloa Palace to congratulate her personally on her victory at Wimbledon. Mariano Rajoy had already congratulated her through the social media and by way of telegram.

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, during his visit to the troops deployed at Ādaži military base in Latvia, described this mission as "historic", since it is the first time that "Spain has sent armoured units beyond our borders".

Government sets amount of grants for academic year 2017-2018 and the requirements to apply for them

The government has increased the budget for grants to a total sum of 1.42 billion euros while maintaining the income and asset thresholds for access to them. The government was also presented with the agreement, adopted by the Government Delegate Committee for Economic Affairs, that seeks to prevent the Regional Government of Catalonia from authorising expense items to finance the illegal referendum on 1 October.
