29th Portugal-Spain Summit to be held on 29 and 30 May

The main thematic issue of the bilateral Summit between Spain and Portugal, which will take place in Vila Real (Portugal), is cross-border cooperation. Precisely in relation to this issue, the structure of this Summit is singular, since it will start in Spain and end in Portugal.

Mariano Rajoy says he will not tolerate "blackmail" from those who threaten independence for Catalonia

The President of the Government of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, stated that he will discuss the proposal put forward by the President of the Regional Parliament of Catalonia, if the latter has the "courage" to present it in the Lower House of Parliament. Furthermore, he stressed that the Government of Spain continues working to prevent, pursue and punish corruption, and fully supports a proposal for the Upper House of Parliament to coordinate a strategy against cyber-attacks.

Mariano Rajoy presides over minute of silence for victims of attack in Manchester

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, presided over a minute's silence at Moncloa Palace, held as a sign of mourning for the victims of Monday night's attack in Manchester. The event was also attended by the British Ambassador to Spain, Simon Manley, as well as senior officials and other employees at the Presidency of the Government.

Government sets up Monitoring Committee to oversee out-of-court mechanism for 'floor clause' claims

This body will oversee and evaluate compliance by credit institutions with the urgent measures to protect consumers on this matter approved back in January. The Council of Ministers also authorised the centralised procurement of 4 million seasonal flu vaccinations.
