Good morning,

Business leaders say Labor’s superannuation tax proposal is a damaging impost and fear the toll on unrealised capital gains could incite a broader backlash that threatens private investment in the economy.

Meanwhile Endeavour’s biggest shareholder and frequent agitator, the billionaire Mathieson family, has thrown its support behind former Virgin Australia chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka who'll take over as boss of the hotels and liquor giant on January 1.

And online bookmaker Betr hopes to thwart a takeover for PointsBet by Japanese entertainment giant Mixi with a rival $360m bid it claims is a better deal.
